The most EXTREME Roller Coaster Ride – EVER
On a scale of 1 – 10 (where 10 is EXTREME FEAR), this ride was awarded a 10 – the most frightening roller coaster ever built. The Cyclone Coaster (1927 – 1946) at Crystal Beach Park, Ontario, Canada was the purveyor of this EXTREME FEAR. Designed by Harry G. Traver (The Master of Terror), this gravity ride featured (unusually) a steel superstructure to support the traditional pitch pine laminated wooden tracks. The eye boggling severity of the rides’ drops, coupled with the kneck wrenching tight turns butchered riders during their ride into hell and back. The coaster was so punishing that a resident nurse was at the station to great riders after their ordeal. She had to deal with bleeding noses and bruised ribs, together with cuts and abrasions. Traver’s Cyclone Coaster was the original White Knuckle Ride.
